Attempt to Observe Second Transit:
November 14-15, 1999
The 0.40-m (T3) APT on the left and the 0.80-m (T8) APT
on the right prepared to make follow-up photometric observations of the
planetary transit of HD 209458 on November 14-15, 1999. The night started out
beautifully clear, but as the time of ingress approached, high cirrus moved
over the site from the south, spoiling our attempt to observe another transit.
This was our last opportunity to do so from Fairborn Observatory for this
observing season.
Thanks to Lou Boyd, Director of Fairborn Observatory, for his extraordinary efforts that make the APT observations possible.
